Dry and windy days can wick moisture out of plants and if there isn’t enough moisture in the ground to replenish the root ball, the plant will suffer. Young plants and trees are especially prone to this because they have not developed an adequate root system to survive winter. To prevent this from happening to your plants, make sure your trees and shrubs get adequate moisture during winter months. Pick a nice sunny day and hand water your plants and young trees. And as always during winter, make sure you drain and disconnect your hoses after using them to prevent them from freezing.
